Simplify vs FillWise: Which Form Filler Do You Need?

Both are Chrome extensions that fill forms so you do not have to type. That is where the overlap ends. Simplify Copilot is a job search product: it autofills applications on hiring sites and adds resume tools and a tracker around that. FillWise fills whatever form is in front of you, on any website or in a PDF, from whatever data you have. Pick by the forms you fill, not by the feature list.

We build FillWise, so this is a vendor comparison. Everything about Simplify below comes from its Chrome Web Store listing and website as of September 2026; we have not used its paid features and do not claim to.

The short answer

You are applying for jobs. Install Simplify. Its autofill on applicant tracking systems is free with no limit, according to its listing, and the resume and tracking tools are built for exactly that task. FillWise can fill a job application too, but it will not track it or rewrite your resume.
You fill forms for other people, or forms that are not job applications. Visa portals, airline bookings, insurance applications, client intake, government PDFs, onboarding packets: that is FillWise. Simplify is not built for them.
You do both. Keep both. They do not conflict.

What Simplify does

From its listing: about 500,000 users, a 4.9 rating from about 3,800 reviews, and a feature set centred on the job hunt.

Autofill applications on major applicant tracking systems such as Workday, Lever and Greenhouse, described as "no limits, free forever".
Resume keyword analysis against the job description you are applying to.
AI resumes and cover letters tailored per role.
A job tracker that records every application automatically.
Job recommendations from its own listings.

The data source is one profile: your resume and the answers you saved. Every application draws from that same profile, which is exactly right for a job seeker and exactly wrong for anyone whose data changes with every form.

Pricing for the paid tier is not published on the site at the time of writing (the pricing page returns a 404), so we will not quote a number.

What FillWise does

FillWise is a side panel in Chrome. Open a form, give it the source, click Fill web form.

Any source. Paste text in any format and any language: an email from a client, a CRM export, notes, JSON. Or attach a photo, scan or PDF, and the AI reads it: passports and IDs in 100+ languages, including non-Latin scripts.
Any web form. No list of supported sites and no per-site setup. The AI reads the labels on the page and matches your data to them in the form's own language.
PDF forms. Fillable PDFs are completed field by field in your browser. Flat PDFs with no real fields get values placed by position, with an editor to move anything that lands off. Scanned PDFs with no text layer are not supported.
Several people at once. Paste a family or a group as one block; the applicants land in their own sections.
Templates. Save a client's block and reuse it in one click.
Known forms fill free. A form FillWise has already filled, filled again from typed text, does not spend a fill: unlimited on paid plans, 20 a week on the free plan.

What it does not have: a resume builder, a cover letter generator, a job tracker, job listings. It fills forms and stops.

Three situations, decided

A graduate sending fifty applications a month. Simplify. The profile is the same every time, the tracker matters, and the autofill is free.

A travel agent with a family of four booking flights and applying for Schengen visas. FillWise. Four passports as photos, one paste of the itinerary, the airline form and the VFS application filled with each person in the right section. Simplify has no way to take a passport as input.

An HR coordinator onboarding new hires. Depends on the direction. Candidates applying to you use Simplify on their side. Your side, moving a hire's details into insurance enrolment, tax forms and the HRIS, is FillWise: the source is a different person each time and half the targets are PDFs.

What to check by hand

Whichever tool you use, the form is your responsibility:

Names spelled exactly as in the identity document.
Date formats the form does not label.
Dropdowns with near-duplicate options.
Questions your source does not answer. FillWise leaves those empty rather than inventing a value.

Privacy

FillWise sends the field labels and your source data to its server for one fill, passes them to the AI provider, and does not store them. Fillable PDFs are parsed in your browser, so only the field list and your data leave it; flat PDFs send page images. Details and subprocessors are on the privacy and data security page. Pricing

FillWise is free for 20 fills to start and 5 fills a week after that, with no card. Paid plans start at $15 for 100 fills a month; the full list is on the pricing section. A fill is one web form or one PDF page. Photo and PDF attachments always spend a fill, because every new document is read by the AI.

FAQ

Can FillWise autofill a Workday or Greenhouse application? Yes, from your resume pasted as text or attached as a PDF. It will not remember your answers across employers the way Simplify's profile does, unless you save them as a template.

Can Simplify fill a visa form or an insurance PDF? Its listing describes job applications only. We have not seen it claim anything else.

Do the two extensions interfere with each other? No. Each fills only when you ask it to.

Is FillWise's autofill free like Simplify's? Partly. Known forms filled from typed text are free within the weekly allowance. First-time forms and anything filled from a photo or PDF spend a fill from your balance.
